UPS, one of the world’s biggest shipping and parcel supply services, is joining the metaverse. The multinational company has launched a venue in Decentraland and aims to target small businesses in the virtual world. Significantly, they will use this space for events and educational purposes. The Helping You Be Unstoppable Store was built in partnership with companies Inc. and Fast Company.
UPS launches virtual metaverse space
In April, the United Parcel Service (UPS) filed a trademark to protect its brand in the metaverse and NFT space. Now, the company is finally entering the metaverse and launching a unique venue, offering education for the small business market in key areas, such as sales and marketing.
Significantly, The Helping You Be Unstoppable Store will not offer one-to-one interaction with UPS staff at this moment.
In the future, there could be a UPS service within the metaverse, allowing you to post items without having to leave Decentraland. Of course, much of this depends on the overall success of the metaverse in general. Still, it is great to see big brands joining, embracing, and productively using the space.
This move by UPS is the latest in a line of iconic web2 companies moving into web3. Last week, Disney announced it is hiring metaverse and web3 lawyers as it expands its plans for web3.
Education at the heart of Metaverse space
UPS wants to help small companies, focusing primarily on this for the metaverse space. The events taking place at the new decentraland venue will include some brilliant speakers.
Notably, these experts will provide excellent talks on essential aspects of running a business. The UPS team has been working hard on this latest venture, aiming to provide an immersive and dynamic learning experience.
Thanks to the metaverse, it is a unique opportunity to learn from small business experts worldwide without leaving your sofa!
